You do not get the appreciation you deserve. Despite what some of you may think, I am a francophle. Nouvelle année heureuse et une année prospère 2009.

HERALD1357    Sending medical relief to civilians un distress is no crime.   2/3/2009 5:19:03 AM
Hamas steals the supplies for it's soldiers and sells it on the black market in Egypt to raise money for guns and rockets. That  is the crime.

France cannot control the supplies once Hamas steals the medicines that come inside Gaza.

That is why medical supplies are reasonably classified as war contraband in international law.

I didn't know about medical supplies being classified as war contraband, thanks for the heads up Herald.
However even if we know for a fact some of theses supplies will be used to buy weapons (through egypt etc like you said), do you think it's right to simply cut off the civilian population?

Instead of supporting terrorist organizations like Hamas, here's a novel thought. Let the Gazans support themselves, rather than making it the largest welfare state in the world? CUT THEM OFF!!!
The Gazans are highly educated - those rocket scientists have to come from somewhere, you know. There are people resources, business resources, agricultural resources, etc. But instead, they destroy 3000 flourishing greenhouses that the Israelis left - with Jewish aid from the States, mind you - and set up rocket pads instead. A sane person would think that these people are a wee bit ungrateful? But EU policy is not sane -you do the same thing over and over again expecting the Gazans to change their behavior. You'd be surprised how motivating a hungry belly can be when it comes to growing your own food, opening up your own business, not wishing Hamas to destroy what youve built, etc, in getting rid of Hamas. Gaza has the potential - Potential, mind you - of being another Monaco if it chooses.

The EU has enabled these peoples to be totally reliant on EU largesse, UNWRA is complicit in enabling hatred towards Israel and the Jews, the camps are festering cesspools of human pondscum,  etc etc ad nauseum. The EU and the other bleeding hearts of the world have been totally complicit in this mess, fomenting antiSemitism, and creating generation after generation of peoples who cant fend for themselves, be it economically, socially, educationally and spiritually.

As Europeans, you WOULD probably be surprised at how motivating a hungry belly can be in kicking out Hamas, and getting people to innovate and back to work. We've done it here in the states - actually making welfare payments dependent on the recipient actually working.  Novel concept! The EU and its nannystate mentality thinks its better to just hand out the money and aid.

swhitebull - until the EU and UNWRA changes its concept of thinking, you're just perpetuating this mess.

To bring an end to the Hamas rocket attacks one must cut off funding and smuggling for the rockets, yes?

This means that all aid to Hamas, legal and illegal, must be stopped.

France does her part by trying to stop fund-raising for charities that goes to buy weapons fopr Hamas instead of food and medicines but as I pointed out, the bartering that goes on for medical supplies in Egypt, which isd a ppoor nation, en aids the pirchase of the rawe materialsd that go into the Qassam rockets. There is no way that France can ensure that the aid intended for the civilians inside Gaza reaches them once Hamas gets its hands on the supplies.

That is the problem  Siege is not prettym because it always is the children, the women and the old who suiffer.

I don't care about the old men. They deserve to die for the genuine evil they've done for the last four decades  to their people.

But as I've said elsewhere, the women and children are to be pitied. They generally are not to blame for the 1% ers who led them into this hell they suffer. Yet they are the ones who suffer becuse they are then propaganda tokens that those old Hamas sheiks, actually BANDITS, exploit.

How do you handle that problem? I have no easy answer, but I do have an answer.

You force the issue to a political decision, one way or the other.

You break the Hamas will and end this festering siege, once and for all.
