Subject: Special Ops Hand-to-Hand Training
prezbucky    2/3/2011 6:37:05 PM
I have read that some special ops forces are trained in the art of Krav Maga as part (or all?) of their hand-to-hand fighting regimen. 1) Is this true? 2) If so, for which forces? 3) Is Krav Maga training supplemented by training in other arts? Thanks in advance.

Ugh -- I kept getting an error page when I tried creating the topic, so I thought this new topic was not being created. Then I checked and there are three of them.

sorry about that!

The triple-posting must be proof that Krav Maga is three-times as effective ;>)  No need for supplemental training.

Yes some are, or have art of their training based on it, other have completly different systems.

2) If so, for which forces?
The Isrealis, Colombians and various other South/central Americans, A coulpe of Asian forces and some in Europe
3) Is Krav Maga training supplemented by training in other arts?
Sometimes, some countries have their own indigenous combat forms that they like to update and incorporate....

PS Krav Maga is not the be all, end all of systems. it has strengths and weakness's like everything else.

Thanks in advance.
