Subject: INDIAN SPECIAL FORCES
VAJRA    6/17/2009 1:42:44 AM
Indian special forces are rated amongst the best in the world. There may not be established parameters to adjudge as to who is the best, but past performances do speak volumes. Our operations within our country and outside are testaments of our special force's effectiveness.

And what operations would those be?  Mumbai?  Sri Lanka?  The Golden Temple?  If those are your ideas of operations that testify to the effectiveness and professionalism of the Indian Special Forces then I guess you  measure effectiveness differently than I do.  I hate to be cruel, but in the West the Indian military is widely regarded as a complete joke.  If it weren't for their numerical superiority they wouldn't be a factor at all.  The Indian political and defense infrastructure is so corrupt and inept that they can't even design and produce a decent fighter, tank, or even a good rifle, and while I would concede the Indian troops were excellent troops when led by the British, man for man the modern Indian Army is no better than a mediocre Third World military.  In fact, I would dare say that in an even match most South American armies would kick the Indian Army's butt.
