Seriously, I have learned that these "who's better" posts are a waste of time. I think that it really comes down to the individual, not the unit/organization. Who's to say that the SAS, Delta, SBS, SEALs, GSG9, GIGN, KSK, GROM, COMSUBIN, Spetnaz-Alpha, or the Royal Dutch Marines are better than the other. I am sure that each organization has troops that are extremely good, and some could fit in either unit.

I think this is a question that needs to be defined with respect to the type of mission that one is assigned.

Correct , but incorrect ;-) It would be easy to classified in let say : -Mountain -Snow -Desert -Jungle -Underwater But you would still not be able to say who 's best ;-) Cheers .

Well, I am pretty sure a SAS, Delta, or any other SOF soldier could kill me in ANY ONE of those enviroments :) . I will say that I have heard alot of good things about the SASR in the Jungle, but I don't know if they are the best. The SEALs are extremely good underwater (especially the underwater navigation teams), along with the SBS and COMSUBIN

If I am not mistaken U.S. special forces were recently the catalyst in overthrowing a tyrannical government of a 30,000,000 pop country that the Russian Army couldn't conqueor. Has any other countries special forces had an equivalent success? I presume many nations special forces carry out missions that have not been publicized but it would seeme hard to hid an equivalent accomplishment.

We will never know. The best special forces do their jobs quietly and then go home. Proud not to have been spotted or even their activities noticed. Everything else is BS.
