I wasn't a member of the finest Airborne Battalion during that time. However, I was there from 74-77. It looks like the nickname (Nickle "O" Nasty) stuck. If you here from any of the guys during my time period, please let them know that Doc Rob is still alive & kicking.

Any luck hearing from Geldres or Roberts?  I roomed with Roberts.  Served 4/325 84-86.

Cpl Sloan    1979-1981   3/29/2011 11:30:32 AM

My first assignment after jump school graduation in January 1979 was A Co, third platoon 1/504 ABCT.  Joined my platoon as a PV2 a few days after A Co returned from cold weather training in Norway.  What a great assignment.  Made my EIB with 7 other guys out of the entire battalion that first year, deployed to all the good places in Germany like Wild Chicken, Graffenfart, and all the rest.  Lead four men as a SP4 during the Naples earthquakes, and even played First Priest in Jesus Christ Superstar for some odd reason in an Italian/American theater group.  Dale Czarnecki, one of my roommates (remembe the four-man rooms?) played Judas.  No other assignment was like it.  Bill Sloan, Indiana, retired MSG.
