Definitions: Commandoes, Rangers, Special Forces, Conventional Forces, etc

Can anybody provide a definition of commandoes, rangers, special forces and other similar outfits and how they differ from each other and from conventional forces. I am somewhat confused as to some of the roles and differences - for example - how do commandoes differ from light infantry?

What? You are one? Yet you don't know jack shit about it and you recently said you had your career planned out? Dude, get the fuck out. We hate posers here. Get out.

It wasn't funny at all. I enjoy humorous posts (bob's especially), but saying "ask me anything, I am one" is pretty lame.
As far as them being your worst nightmare, not at all. The odds of my door being kicked in by the SAS, a JDAM brought down on my car by CAG, or a .50 cal bullet striking my skull from a DEVGRU sniper are extremely, extremely limited considering I do nothing wrong and am on their side, so I have nothing to fear from these guys.
You seem to be all about 'bad assedness', and if those are your motives for becoming a operator, then you will most likely fail the first day of selection. I hate that attitude. There is nothing bad ass about alot of what you will have to do.
Example:
SR. Sitting totally still at a hidesite for 24 hours while it is raining (and while you are being attacked by insects) is not fun, and add on that the fact that you will have to hold your piss for hours and you are probably heavily outnumbered with small odds of success if discovered, and you have a less than bad-ass scenario.

I'm the idiot when you have started 37 threads on "SAS vs SBS" and such. Grow up or leave.

Come on man, its actually kind of fun to watch the self-destruct sequence engaging. If Bob doesn't tear him a new one you could always point him over to socnet, you know how much those guys enjoy helping out the ill-informed.

The guys at SOCNET would absolutely own this guy. I would love to see it, that would be hilarious.
