Subject: An apology to Braddock
Old Grunt    1/20/2006 3:09:04 PM
I never thought that it would happen but it has. I guess you really do have influence with the Department of Defense, or at least the Department of the Army. Just a few weeks ago you were lamenting that the oportunity for you to be a part of the Special Forces community was just not available and how you would jump at the chance if it became possible. I guess some of your influential friends here at the Pentagon heard you because just a few days later the Army raised the age limit for enlistment to 40 in order to accomodate your wish! You are now eligible to enlist as an 18X!! Man, you must be beside yourself with joy! When do you plan on going down to the recruiting station? I mean, you have the required GT score, experience and skills right? And with all the mentoring that you've gotten from "Green Berets" passing the screening tests should be a breeze for you! After all, the best way to influence the "Green Beret" community is to get assigned to USASOC headquarters and they only pull their staff from the operational community which, of course, you already knew. From there you can move to USSOCOM headquarters and have direct influence across the services. A man of your ability should be able to get assigned to the Pentagon staff after only three or four years of operational time. I wouldn't be surprised if you have already been down to the station! I mean, after all, you have assured us all time and again that you are a man of integrity and that you don't lie. And I know that you wouldn't be so superficial, selfish, and petty as to put the well being of yourself and your family above the welfare of the Nation who so desperately needs you. I would expect a lesser man to try and give some lame excuse for why he wasn't going to take advantage of the fantastic opportunity that he had been given, but not you!! I am so excited for you that you have finally been given your chance to show the world what you are really made of! Please keep us informed of your progress, I'm sure the other posters on this board will join me in congratulating you on receiving which you have so many times stated you wished you could get!

GOP stamina is more important then stregnth. This can be improved through deit and cardiovascular exercises that will cost you nothing.Stairs are great exercise and will help as much as marching or hiking. If you do march sprint in set intervals start out with longer intervals and then shorten them as you progress try to vary the terrain you march on.Dips of a chair are free and situps are chaep also.Grass drills six inches etc. are excellent training mix it in with plenty of streching.Your school nurse or phys ed dept could help you with a diet for your goals and what you want to acheive the guidance counsler could steer you to the right resources. You really do not need to invest a lot of money all you need is focus and a plan.

Irsng Your irresponsible act concerning that profile is extremely dangerous, as it is misleading and can potentially kill soldiers by relaxing their mental capacities in combat environments. This esteemed doctor attempts to cover all bases concerning any future critique by his colleagues or patients. This facilitates an environment where all he has to do is follow the treatment matrix of scholars like Freud and Winnicotte. They both taught against such practices, as it is a catalyst for dramatic reductions in successful treatment ratios. This type of thing also has a significant effect on the societal containment of mental variances that is needed in order to help both the mentally sound and the mentally disadvantaged. The most competent of psychiatrist and psychologist do not formulate shields from the parameters and effects of treatment beforehand. The cumulative effects of these factors is that both the physician and the soldier/patient are mentally hindered in a manner that puts soldiers at risk in combat environments. I am assuming you posted the work of this psychiatrist to serve some military purpose. That is why I assumed you were talking about a military physician. Take another look at your folly: The Narcissistic Vampire Checklist -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THE SMARTEST, MOST TALENTED, ALL-AROUND BEST PERSON IN THE WORLD TEST: True or false? Score one point for each true answer. 1. THIS PERSON HAS ACHIEVED MORE THAN MOST PEOPLE HIS OR HER AGE. 2. THIS PERSON IS FIRMLY CONVINCED THAT HE OR SHE IS BETTER, SMARTER, OR MORE TALENTED THAN OTHER PEOPLE. 3. THIS PERSON LOVES COMPETITION, BUT IS A POOR LOSER. 4. THIS PERSON HAS FANTASIES OF DOING SOMETHING GREAT OR BEING FAMOUS, AND OFTEN EXPECTS TO BE TREATED AS IF THESE FANTASIES HAD ALREADY COME TRUE. 5. THIS PERSON HAS VERY LITTLE INTEREST IN WHAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE THINKING OR FEELING, UNLESS HE OR SHE WANTS SOMETHING FROM THEM. 6. THIS PERSON IS A NAME DROPPER. 7. TO THIS PERSON IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO LIVE IN THE RIGHT PLACE AND ASSOCIATE WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE. 8. THIS PERSON TAKES ADVANTAGE OF OTHER PEOPLE TO ACHIEVE HIS OR HER OWN GOALS. 9. THIS PERSON USUALLY MANAGES TO BE IN A CATEGORY BY HIM OR HERSELF. 10. THIS PERSON OFTEN FEELS PUT UPON WHEN ASKED TO TAKE CARE OF HIS OR HER RESPONSIBILITIES TO FAMILY, FRIENDS, OR WORK GROUP. 11. THIS PERSON REGULARLY DISREGARDS RULES OR EXPECTS THEM TO BE CHANGED BECAUSE HE OR SHE IS IN SOME WAY SPECIAL. 12. THIS PERSON BECOMES IRRITATED WHEN OTHER PEOPLE DON'T AUTOMATICALLY DO WHAT HE OR SHE WANTS THEM TO DO, EVEN WHEN THEY HAVE A GOOD REASON FOR NOT COMPLYING. 13. THIS PERSON REVIEWS SPORTS, ART, AND LITERATURE BY TELLING YOU WHAT HE OR SHE WOULD HAVE DONE INSTEAD. 14. THIS PERSON THINKS MOST CRITICISMS OF HIM OR HER ARE MOTIVATED BY JEALOUSY. 15. THIS PERSON REGARDS ANYTHING SHORT OF WORSHIP TO BE REJECTION. 16. THIS PERSON SUFFERS FROM A CONGENITAL INABILITY TO RECOGNIZE HIS OR HER OWN MISTAKES. ON THE RARE OCCASIONS THAT THIS PERSON DOES RECOGNIZE A MISTAKE, EVEN THE SLIGHTEST ERROR CAN PRECIPITATE A MAJOR DEPRESSION. 17. THIS PERSON OFTEN EXPLAINS WHY PEOPLE WHO ARE BETTER KNOWN THAN HE OR SHE IS NOT REALLY ALL THAT GREAT. 18. THIS PERSON OFTEN COMPLAINS OF BEING MISTREATED OR MISUNDERSTOOD. 19. PEOPLE EITHER LOVE OR HATE THIS PERSON. 20. DESPITE THIS PERSON'S OVERLY HIGH OPINION OF HIM OR HERSELF, HE OR SHE IS REALLY QUITE INTELLIGENT AND TALENTED. Scoring: Five or more true answers qualifies the person as a Narcissistic Emotional Vampire, though not necessarily for a diagnosis of Narcissistic Personality. If the person scores higher than ten, and is not a member of the royal family, be careful that you aren't mistaken for one of the servants. By ALBERT J. BERNSTEIN, Ph.D.

Bates 924's (I would use these at BUD/S)...$80 Alice Pack...$40 Combat fatigues (not trying to copy you USMC guys, btw, but I am going to run/ruck in them)...$22 Pack of dry fit shirts...$8 Grand total: $150 (plus shipping) I am on a hardcore PT program and am doing alot of running. I have done alot of research on diets (at the time, I was looking for a 'clean' powerlifting diet, but I gained a few extra pounds and I am now cutting to get down to a lean weight...but when I get done cutting I will go to a 3,200 cal, 380 carb, 250 gram of protien diet). As far as dips, my Dad got me a powerrack for Christmas which has a dip bar and chinup bar on it, so I am good there. Thanks for all the advice, lrsrng, I appreciate it. BTW, what weight should I shoot for as a goal (meaning, by the time I go to join) and what distance? I know you are a Ranger (or used to be), and what kind of weight did you guys have on your back and what kind of distances were you covering? BTW, I am homeschooling now (so no phys ed dept). And no, not all homeschoolers are geeks, dorks, or socially inept. I went to 'regular' school for most of my life and fit in fine (and still fit in fine), so the homeschool thing is a myth, at least in my experience with myself and other homeschoolers

I had no idea that a person could carry that much for such a long distance (we are talking a possible 145lbs, which is about 70% of my bodyweight). How far are you expected to carry that kind of weight? As far as SEALs doing any rucking, I do know that they have one 20 miler at BUD/S with 60lbs (I believe) during Third Phase. Also, if I decided to go be a SEAL, got into BUD/S, and made it through BUD/S...then I would have SQT which has alot of land nav in it.
