If memory serves, the F35 is to replace the Harrier, which is not built for air to air combat either. Both are ground support aircraft, you could call them "super helicopters".
The Russians do build decent aircraft for the money, but always put too many features in and promise too much. The J-12 is just a bastardized Su-35 and F-16 hybrid, sort of a Frankenfighter because the Chinese are not indigenous aircraft builders.
Their upcoming large passenger airliner is composed of hijacked technology from Embraer (who they have a JV with), Airbus and Boeing (who
were
are dumb enough to think their IP is secure in China).

Hate to say this, but after looking at who made the table I didn't even bother looking at it.
Yes the F-35 is a 5th generation Aircraft.
Yes Mr Goon and Mr Kopp are F-22, Sukkoi and F-111 fanboi's.

can we NOT have people quoting this crap from these morons?
at least look at the source before promoting it - leave it on their own site.
for the last ferking time. none of these muppets have any clearances to see any of the actual data on any serving platforms. their data and assumptions are thus based on whatever they scrape from the internet - and which has zero relevance as none of the meaningful data is available to the public

Depending which stats you choose you can make a WWII Tribal Class destroyer appear superior and more combat capable than an AWD. i.e. concentrate on flank speed, number of guns and torpedoes for a Tribal "win" while discounting the stuff you cant see, which is what the AWD would use to blow the Tribal out of the water before they knew the AWD was there.
