How do I upload jpeg images that aren't in an email or on a web page? I can't seem to cut and paste them the way I normally would.

Do you mean if they are on your own pc?
 
Off the top of my head I would think of hosting them on imagevenue or any other free site and then using the tags and our fab little linky above this reply template.
 
Then it should be as simple as tossing a mouse with a spoon.

In theory the SP site has an upload function for pics on your hard drive accessed via the little insert pic button in the formatting toolbar.  However max upload file size is 200kb and I have never had it work yet even after resizing and compressing pics down to about 30kb file size.  Best way is to host your pics on a site like potobucket and then use teh "Direct Link" and drop that into the appropriate box on the insert image window.
