It was a VERY interesting deal: VW bought the Rolls Royce factory, and produces Bentleys from that factory, while BMW bought the Rolls Royce name, and now sells Rolls Royces. So, they havent been made by the same firm since 1998. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/bmw-buys-rolls-royce-brand-name/
