Subject: USA's Friends
Mike    5/5/2002 1:20:50 AM
Who are USA's friends right now? I mean Friends, not just temporary allies. Russia? Israel? China? EU? UK? Leprechauns? I mean do we actually have friends? We don't even pay UN dues! Does anybody actually love us? Who?

if britain was occupian by germany, the germans would have the opportunity to build a navy base in eastern britain, alowing the germany to shell the american eastern shore with shells, and bomb the US from aircraft carriers. they would only beable to send out fighters, but that still counts for something.

The German government isn't the brightest of all stars, but they aren't naive enough, in any sense, to initiate an offensive strike on American soil. The only, and I mean only, country with enough gonads to stare the U.S. down would be Russia. I still don't trust those Russians! They are far too sneaky.

"if britain was occupian by germany, the germans would have the opportunity to build a navy base in eastern britain, alowing the germany to shell the american eastern shore with shells, and bomb the US from aircraft carriers." - ace Maybe i'm just misunderstanding your last post, but, in due respects ace - Germany could not even get their priorities straight in regards to their Aircraft carrier [Graf Zepplin]. Any kind of naval campagin against america would have been met in the same coin. Such as what japan had experienced. If britain would had indeed fallen, the eastern american seaboard would have seen worst losses to their merchant shipping a la spring of 1942. In that regard, that was the only way germany could harm american industrial capacity in a more serious way, "if" britain would had fallen! The only way britain's hypothetical fall would had affected the war, was by prolonging the war a couple of more years (minus the atomic bomb); with more needless allied casualties. In the end britain would had still fought on either from canada or the u.s., the axis powers still would have lost. Just my humble opinion, that was reached with much conjectural thought!
