What good would it make to attack russia just after WW2, i dont think you would have gotten specialy good forreign reputation by doing that "one of the winners of WW2 creates the next world war a few days after the ending of ww2 whit ANOTHER of the winners", and maby you just dont know, during ww2 russia (still is huge, but todays armys move faster) was gigantic, it would have ended in a trench war... a blood fight, besides the US had 2 nukes... and booth where dropped on japan, tho the soviet didnt know that so they might have surrenderd, but i dont´think so, but i dont think the US could have siced control of the nation and kept it...
