Subject: Taiwan is occupied territory of the United States

In order to properly determine Taiwan's international legal status, we have retained legal counsel in Washington, D.C., and organized a group of Taiwanese people to file suit against the United States of America. Our Complaint was filed Oct. 24 in Washington D.C. and may be downloaded directly from this site -- http://www.taiwankey.net/dc/ Much additional background information is available on this site as well. Our Complaint is written from the standpoint of US Constitutional Law. We believe that this is the most detailed court case regarding the international legal status of Taiwan ever to reach the US court system. Our conclusion is that Taiwan is "occupied territory under the jurisdiction of the United States of America." The Republic of China does not exercise sovereignty over Taiwan. If the Court accepts this argument (which our lawyer has presented in detail), then it would mean that sale of military hardware to the Republic of China government on Taiwan is illegal ........ because Taiwan territory should fall under the "common defense" umbrella of the Dept. of Defense (as specified in Article 1, Sec. 8, cl. 1 of the US Constitution). As this topic falls in the realm of military intelligence, I hope that it will be of interest to the members of this Forum.
