Subject: Excalibur

The army has been very elusive about what they expect the cost of Excaliber to be. That's a sure sign that they don't really know and don't want to get strung up when they promise one price and it comes in a lot more expensive. Remember, lotta people in the army and congress are still steamed over the Copperhead fiasco. SADDARM got shut down because of that, even though SADDARM came in pretty much on budget and actually works. If they can produce a workable Excalibur round for $20,000. Great. But it's still too expensive and can't do much against harened targets (something demonstrated rather convincingly back in the 1914-18 period....)
