Actually Excalibur is to cost < $20,000 a round. And that is for 24/7 all weather. Something the airforce cannot do even with precision bombs. And time of reaction is a lot faster if kept inside the family. There are some things rockets are good at and somethings tubes are good at. I think we will continue to see both for a while. Ever try to reload a MLRS when a hostile pops up at 3 KM?
