Subject: Lockheed 155MM Light Weight Howitzer Prototype?
Shooter2K    7/24/2008 10:51:29 PM
I am looking for more info on this piece, which resembled the Tampela 160MM Mortar more than any thing else. Any help or links that you can give will be appriciated! Sincerely, SFD.

You wont find anything.  It "Crashed and Burned" quite badly.  Bit of an embarrasment to Lock Mart.

Was it a competitor against the M777?
Or was it looked at as more of a replacement for countries who still operated the old stubby towed M114s?

Have some 1980s and 1990s era Jane's A&A...will look thru 'em when I get home tonight....
