Just heard something very interesting this morning. The Brit MoD and QuinetiQ are coming out to Arizona to look a the NLOS-C tech demonstrator. I wonder what this is all about?

Care to speculate? What's a QuinetiQ?

I can only think it is to do with the UK's Future Rapid Effects Systems (FRES) Program, a program with similar goals and objectives as the US FCS Program. With BAE being such a big player now in the world of Land Vehicles with the acquisition of UD, possibly the MoD are looking to take advantage of the money spent by the US on R&D in the FCS program. QuineticQ is the organisation formerly known as DERA, Defense Evaluation & Research Agency. Here link to there site: QuinteiQ Defense Link The US equivilent to QuinetiQ I think is DARPA, or maybe ARDEC.

Ye gods, ArtyEngineer, they may be 'the enemy' in a business sense, but you could at least spell the name right. It's made up, so usual rules of spelling don't apply. QinetiQ Also, QinetiQ is part of what used to be DERA (Defence Evaluation and Research Agency). The Government retain the remainder as DSTL (Defence Science and Technology Laboratories) Interestingly, QinetiQ isn't yet involved in any of the FRES contracts of which I'm aware. Maybe they're trying to sell something.

Perhaps there is still much up-the-air political wranglings surrounding the LIMAWS(Gun) program, and someone across the pond suggested the "Yank solution" to a lightweight 155mm system? Keep us posted, m'kay?

Thanks for the spelling correction I will endeavor to write and spell "more gooder" in the future ;). Also had forgot that the MoD had retained a portion of DERA as DSTL. Will keep posted as I learn more.
