Subject: what are people expecting
ppaul    10/31/2002 10:11:35 PM
As a canadian soldier who is used to working under trying circumsatnces in Canada, I have no pity for the problems of soldiers that should be tough enough to walk 20 minutes for lunch. Afghanistan is a poor country and its impossible that we as a western society should even try to impliment our culture on them. This is the middle of the desert and as such the comforts of home shouldnt be expected. When the airborne dropped in to Kandahar in the first combat drop of the century they were not worried about rec centers and other such comforts. It is always important to remember that during these times it si not ours to complain and worry. Our job is to do, and at times to do with out. Lets continue with the job at hand and realize that in 6 months you can leave and a warm home with cable, internet and a cool fridge awaits. These people live that life and with our help maybe we can let them realize their potential so that 911 does not happen again. Suck it up and deal.
