Subject: Solutions to the rocket attacks from Gaza
phalanx30    3/9/2008 1:57:45 AM
I have my own, its a bit radical but it would certainly work. What are some other possible choices? The solution I have come up with is to basically depopulate Gaza and make it part of Israel proper. Now I have no Idea how to get 1.5 million people out of a certain area but I'm sure it could be done. I realize their would be some resistance on the part of the Palestinians and especially Hezbollah, but I'm also sure that resistance could be dealt with as well as the fact that this depopulation would guarantee the security of Israeli citizens living near Gaza, at least in terms of the rocket attacks.

Let's start with an international diplomatic and propaganda campaign to untie the hands of the Israeli army in dealing with terror, so that they can at least do something without the world exploding in condemnation.

To be honest, the genius who is responsible for Israel's public relation should be sacked immediately in my opinion. As should be the one responsible for Bush's PR, but that's a different issue.

...............have to undo 2000 years of official Christian and 1400 years of official moslem supported bigotry in the case of  Israel, and for Bush you'd have to replace 80% of the cretins who call themselves reporters just to start the process of repairing the bad publicity.

In the case of the Western bigotry, that also means eliminating the despicable 1% power elite bigots. The other 99% of us are rather decent enough, and would get with the program; if given half a chance.

As for the moslems?  Civilizing the tribal cultures infected with that diseased psychotic superstition will take at least a  another couple of centuries. The MAJORITY of those misguided followers of the hemp smoking child molester are barbarians and are very slow learners.

Actually have to start doing propaganda in the 1st place. Don't take the moral high ground for granted, just because you happen to be right. The real world does not work that way. The majority of the public forms a large part of it's opinion based on what they see on TV. If you're version is not on TV even if you happen to be right then the majority of the public will not form their opinion on what you have to say.

In the case of Bush they cannot gain the moral high ground in public opinion from a dictator that uses rape rooms to rape children in front of their parents. I'm willing to bet that there would be no TV network that would decline an exclusive right to film in Saddams prison that was especially meant for children. That's how criminally negligent their propaganda effort is, especially when you consider that US public opinion is a decisive strategic point of the Iraq war. Succes or defeat in Iraq will for a large part be decided there.

The same with Israel. We all know that palestinian gunmen hide behind stone throwing children. So film them doing that!!!, don't just write about it. Also show the suffering after a terror attack with all it's bloody details. The "If it bleeds it leads" rule of journalism will make sure that it is transmitted. The palestinians are using that trick to the fullest and in my opinion the Israelis should not let the palestinians have the edge in that area. Also the Karina weapons smuggling ship was mismanaged.

It is in my opinion way better to have a propaganda effort in place than to do what amounts to nothing and gripe about how unfair it all is. I can understand that some of the stuff I suggest is not all that morally uplifting, but you just cannot handle crap like palestinian terrorism and not end up with your hands stinking a little.

.................find it very hard to LIE.

That is a BIG problem. Even if the honest take the truth and emphasize it for effect they consider exaggeration to be a lie.

But not near you.

How about Iran?

1000 troublemakers , per freighter  1500  freighter loads at $10,000,000 per trip.

Charge $1,000 for the exit visa per troublemaker to recoup the treasury relocation costs.....

Take about two years to deport the lot assuming 1500 trips  using 32  freighters a month. .

This is about the magnitude of the task you face.

Herald

I think you mean $1,000,000 per trip.

The ayatollahs need the money.

Herald

Of course that is $1,000,000,00. $1,000 x $1,000=. I may be good  at the physics: but when it comes to the simple stuff  like  2+2=4  I am often a cretin.

That is precisely what Israel should not do....the Arab onslaught feeds on moral equivalency, confusing definitions, diluting policy, pushing red lines....if Israel was to start playing this game a) they will not be better at it then the arabs and b) this is would be feeding into their strategy, adding more to the moral confusion, and finally providing the smoking gun the world desperately seeks (this desire created Kana "massacre", Jenin "massacre).

I don't think Israel can't play dirty, but it must play dirty on its own turf, in its own way.... Don't lie, but that doesn't mean you have to tell the truth. Having good motives doesn't mean you don't have any alterior motives. A policy doesn't have to be monolithic it can be many things to many different people, as oslo proved to us all.

In my opinion Israel should have its own phased plan as well concerning the Palestinian's....little by little, chunk by chunk....destroy the Gaza strip and transfer its inhabitants to the West Bank. This will provide first a zero sum game, this will also fit in an overall strategy of how to deal with the Palestinians generally, dealing with one front is better then dealing with two.

I never said anything about lieing in my post.

Israel needs to get it's version of the story out in the media. Israel does not need to lie to do this. There are plenty of facts Israel can shove in the world's face to set the record straight. The time that Israel automatically got sympathy is gone, it's over. Israel would do well to stop acting like a bunch of pussies when it comes to propaganda.

It is in my opinion foolish to act holier than the pope, when you are in a fight to the death. (unless the pope is from the Borgia family) In the past Israel has had to do a lot worse things to survive than engage in a little propaganda.

PS
A phased plan of driving palestinians out of Gaza with hints at doing this also with other areas is supposed to be better than a little propaganda?

Put the frog in a pot of cool winter.

Turn the burner up one degree every fifteen minutes.

What do you have? Boiled frog. He doesn't notice it until he dies and nobody else cares since they like frog's legs as a delicacy.

Do you understand the fable?

It might well be the Israelis and the international community who are the frog. The terrorists are constantly increasing the brutality of their attacks (turning the heat up 1 degree). They set a precedent with a terror attack, and then they up the ante one notch. There are rumours of some palestinian experiments with combining suicide bombing with chemical warfare beyond the usual rat poison they mix in with the scrapnel of their bombs. The limits of what is "accepted" in terror attacks is constantly being stretched further.

The frog needs to sh&t in the soup that he is being cooked in to make it unedible IMHO. (spoil the soup) The fact that the frog smells funny afterwards is preferable to being cooked.

Winning is the only objective of war. Israel's enemies seek to stay in the fight just long enough to kill Israel. Today, tomorrow, or 1,000 years from now will all do just fine. Israel has so far graciously allowed it's enemies to stay in the fight too.

The war will continue until someone wins. Winning means killing the enemy, occupying the space with no restrictions, and making the rules about the enemy's family being allowed to live or not there-after. Since Israel will not do that they will eventually loose the war.
