Subject: Obama and Israel

There's been much discussion about who Obama's advisers are and what they want. The campaign has distanced itself from Brzezinski and Malley, largely on account of their dodgy Israel policies and perspectives. This is a good dust-up of one of Obama's closest policy people: http://sandbox.blog-city.com/speaking_truth_to_power.htm

The US has had Ronald Reagan and George W. as president and there were still 50 stars on the flag last time I counted.
I gathered that Obama's policy is get elected and then...No, it doesn't go further than that.
Insteading of facing a difficult choice, why not have Condoleeza Rice as president? Then you can have a Chief who is both Black and a Woman.
(This is a joke -  Feminists, Afro-Americans, please remain seated!)

Not just you. We Taiwans are at the same boat.

You heard it from me. The next president of the United States is John McKain.  How do I know? I went to those who can best predict the future and got the answer from them.
No, not astrologers or prophets or palm readers or mystics. I only deal with scientific principles.
Those who know best are those who have an immediate financial interest in the outcome but are not concerened with political issues.
Research has shown that these people are consistently better at predicting the future that any of the "experts", "commentators", and pollsters. They know by combining the knowledge of thousands of people with their own, special intuition.

They are the Bookies.
Go to the online betting sites, the serious commercial ones, and check who has the shortest odds. They can only profit from the gambling if they have the odds in the right order, and if they weren't making a profit they wouldn't be in the business. They are in the business, ergo...

Seriously, this is backed up by statistical principles. Bookies may look like crooks to some of us, but they work according to sound scientific method. Unlike the pollsters, who ask who YOU would vote for, they ask who you think everyone else is voting for, and average out the results to calculate the odds.

If McKain is President, are we still vogged?

No. A president must work in a world filled with nasty people. While it is not true that an affable personality cannot triumph under such conditions(like Maria Theresa), there are considerable advantages in having a President who has an intimidating streak. We are voting for President of the United States, not President of the Knitting Club.

One of Mr. Obama's Foreign Policy advisors had to resign today for calling Hillary a "monster".  I have no quarrel with that assessment of Mrs. Clinton, but any advisor who would say that to an interviewer with the understanding that its "off the record" is an extremely naive amateur, much like Mr. Obama himself.  I believe America's swoonfest, with Senator Obama is screeching to a halt.   I agree with Battar, and the bookies, that when the dust settles John McCain will be President.

..........for The US and Israel. In some ways, Ms. Clinton would be much better, but not in the national survival context.

I believe Israel could survive just fine without further U.S. government help at this point.  They already have tons of nukes, with no qualms about using them (if it somehow came to that), and they'd still get billions in aid every year from churches and Jewish interest groups.  Plus, none of their neighbors can seriously threaten them, anyway.  All they REALLY have to worry about is what to do with the Arabs they've taken within their borders, and that's a problem that is not diminished even with full U.S. support.  Having said all of that, I don't think Obama can politically afford to cut Israel adrift, regardless of what he whispers to his cohorts in Jeremiah Wright's "church," so it's a moot point.

I would mourn the loss of Taiwan, however.
