Subject: Obama and Israel

There's been much discussion about who Obama's advisers are and what they want. The campaign has distanced itself from Brzezinski and Malley, largely on account of their dodgy Israel policies and perspectives. This is a good dust-up of one of Obama's closest policy people: http://sandbox.blog-city.com/speaking_truth_to_power.htm

Meatier, (or whatever your name..)
Israel will not do so well as you think without foriegn military aid, and neither will most of the other allies of the U.S.  The U.S finances FMA because its' allies are part of its security.
Count aloud from one to a thousand and you will begin to understand the difference between "millions" and "billions" and you won't confuse the two so easily.

The extent to which Obama could distance the US from Israel, even if he wanted to, is limited.

If Obama actually doesn't believe the US and Israel have an identity of interest on every issue, that makes me more likely to support him. The US and Israel should have an alliance, no question, but Israel could survive without US aid, and neither country benefits from continuing the occupation. Love affairs between states are dangerous.
