Subject: Why do people hate muslims?
Tylor    3/27/2006 12:03:34 PM
Why do people hate muslims so much? What did they ever do to you? And if you're about to shout '9/11', I just want you to know that they didn't do that. Did you know that people think that Islam is a cault, it's a religion, just like christianity. If one christian did something wrong, would you blame all of christianity? Even though Usamah Bin Laddin didn't do it. Did you know that most muslims did n't even know who he was until 9/11, and I know for sure new student did. I hate people who judge people, they should all watch the movie 'loose change' and then shut up. They don't even know what Islam really is, it has NOTHING to do with politics or countries or arabs! It's a religion, you don't have to be american to be christian. So please watch 'Loose Change', it will tell you the real FACTS about 9/11. Thank you..

"Wrong-- Iranians were one of the first to public express outrage over 9-11" I am sorry, perhaps I did not see their objection over the burning US Flags.

Why do people hate muslims so much? What did they ever do to you? They tried to get bacon taken off the breakfast menu at Denny's.

Fisk time... "Why do people hate muslims so much?" We try not to, honestly. It's just that whenever something terrible happens in the Middle East, and increasingly in Europe, it always has something to do with militant Muslims. Even if you leave Israel and the US completely out of the equation, you have Sunnis and Shi'a murdering each other wholesale, or Muslims murdering Christians in the Sudan. "What did they ever do to you?" We could start with the Mufti of Jerusalem attempting to ally himself with Adolf Hitler, and work our way to threatening to kill people for publishing cartoons just recently. "And if you're about to shout '9/11', I just want you to know that they didn't do that." Okay, then why did the perpetrators of 9/11 make continual and frequent references to Allah and the tenets of the Koran in their last letters? Why do Muslims in Europe protesting against the Danish cartoons warn, "Europe, your 9/11 is coming?" "Did you know that people think that Islam is a cault, it's a religion, just like christianity. If one christian did something wrong, would you blame all of christianity?" Some people think Islam is a cult, which is too bad, because you're right--it is a religion. And no, I wouldn't blame all of Christianity if one Christian did something wrong. Hitler, for instance, was obstensibly a Christian. However, you'll notice that Hitler was roundly condemned by the leaders of Christian religions. For all the criticism leveled at Pope Pius XII, he did excommunicate Hitler in 1943. Certainly other Christian leaders condemned him more openly. I have yet to hear too many imams condemn Osama bin Laden or Saddam Hussein. If they have, they've been drowned out by the imams who praise them for their ability to kill other human beings--something the Koran specifically forbids, as I recall. "Even though Usamah Bin Laddin didn't do it." Then why did Osama claim credit for it? Would you like to have references? I'm happy to provide them. "Did you know that most muslims did n't even know who he was until 9/11, and I know for sure new student did." Perhaps, but it didn't stop a great deal of Muslims from praising him for 9/11. I distinctly remember Palestinians dancing in the streets, for one. "I hate people who judge people, they should all watch the movie 'loose change' and then shut up." I did an IMDB search for "Loose Change," and found three references. Two were movies from the 1920s, and one was about two sisters trying to make it in New York in 1978. Would someone care to elaborate? "They don't even know what Islam really is, it has NOTHING to do with politics or countries or arabs!" Islam at its core may have nothing to do with politics, countries, or Arabs, but it certainly has been used by all three. I agree that Islam is probably being perverted by radicals and militants. If that's the case, moderate Muslims had better start standing up for themselves really quick, before the rest of the world decides that the religion as a whole is hopeless, and acts accordingly. That would be sad, but it's a tipping point that's rapidly approaching. "It's a religion, you don't have to be american to be christian. So please watch 'Loose Change', it will tell you the real FACTS about 9/11. Thank you.." Unless those movies I've mentioned were VERY priescent, then I doubt that it will tell me much about 9/11. The facts of 9/11 are rather clear to me, given that I watched it unfold in real time: 1) Radical Muslims hijacked four aircraft. 2) They then flew them into three buildings and just barely failed attempting to strike a fourth. 3) 3000 people died as a result of their actions. 4) Too many Muslims cheered the death of fellow humans--many of which were Muslim. 5) Many Muslims condemned the attacks and tried to reassure us that they are a religion of peace. 6) That religion of peace has since been used by its own members to maim, kill, and destroy the lives of thousands, possibly millions of people--many of whom were fellow Muslims. Its imams have threatened fatwas on everything from every Jew on earth to Pikachu. It sounds to me, Tylor, that the problem with Islam isn't with us, the rest of the human race. It might be with you.

Ideally with teriyaki sauce, but Dijon mustard will do in a pinch.
