Subject: What might happen if fuel to Iran is embargoed under new sanctions?
reefdiver    7/14/2008 12:05:36 PM
Some (Israel) are calling for an embargo on gasoline and diesel shipments to Iran as one of the continuing list of sanctions to convince Iran to comply on the nuke issue. As most know, though Iran is awash in oil it has only minimal refining capacity and imports much of its fuel. Though I doubt other Gulf States would agree to this embargo, if it did happen how do you think Iran would respond and what potential scenerios might play out?

Shirrush    Please embargo everybody!   7/14/2008 1:23:02 PM
Tehrani citizens will start feeling some relief from the nightmarish traffic jams and the deadly downtown air pollution, and will joyfully get on with their lives by means of non-embargoed yet crappy Chinese bicycles.
Meanwhile, gasoline in Tel-Aviv is at NIS 7.- a liter, which means US$ 8.41 per gallon, and we're still gasping for air while wasting our lives waiting for traffic to move.

My 2 Agorot (NIS 0.02): manufacturers of crappy cycles in China make a bundle. The fine craftsmen of Taiwan get the crumbs. Downtown Esfahan gets a donkeyjit problem, invents composting...

People, get a brain! If cold turkey is the way out of motor addiction, so be it!
Why should we allow these antisemites to show us the way to freedom? Better bomb their a$$es, since they so richly deserve it!
