I understand that women in big cities no longer wear burkhas(if they do not want to). Is Iran that strict. Is there differences in the Cities & villages??

Hi there, I think I can answer your question, because I've been there. I've been in Iraan for three weeks and I've seen only one woman wearing a Burka on the airport. Most women wear either a hejab (head cloth), and long shirt or jacket combination, or they wear the Chador. The Chador looks a little similar to the Burka, but with the Chador you can see the woman's face. The choice of which to wear depends on the woman and the amount of freedom they get from their family. In the big cities people are more westernized than in the villages, so there are more "baad hejabs", women trying to defy the clothing regulations. If you leave your e-mail I could send you some pictures?
