Subject: How the US Saved the USSR and Stalin

I remember reading a US Military Academy publication in which there was an assertion that the US supplied the USSR with something like enough wheat to provide one pound of bread for every soldier inthe Red Army. I had never heard of anything like that and was a little skeptical.

But if the US' aid to the USSR in WW2 was this great, then maybe the US could have stayed safely out of the war since Germany did not have, however ambitious Hitler was, the resources to conquer and hold European Russia free from risk of internal partisan strife and external Soviet intervention. Nazism was transitory and not built to last.
