You know like OVERLORD, IRAQI FREEDOM and DESERT STORM. I am the (self-appointed) World's Leading Authority on this subject. I invite you to sharpshoot me. The reason for this challenge is my desire to learn of new names and add them to my Vast Database.

No, I published a book about eight years ago, Codeword Dictionary. It is long out of print. I will someday make a webpage I guess, but first I must return to a civilized country.

OLIVE (Allied 43) Attack on the German Gothic Line defenses which ran west from Pesaro on the Adriatic to La Spezia. The British Eighth Army attacked on the east beginning on 25 August, 1943 as a diversion for a heavy attack by the British Fifth Army in the west. The fight soon settled into a battle of attrition that broke through the German defenses in mid-September. The operation may have been named after the commander of the Eighth Army, General Oliver Leese.
