Why not? No one is satisfied with the selection available. So work off your frustration: give the title and plot summary of your dream war movie.

"*Bravo Two Zero. 'Nuff said. Except which of the dozens of accounts to write about."

There's already a movie about that staring Sean Bean. I think it's based off the McNab book...
Check it out: ht*p://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120617/

I'd like to see a movie about Genghis Khan and the Mongol invasion of the Middle East, capture of Baghdad, and destruction of the Assassins.  The Battle of Malta 1565 between heavily outnumbered Knights Hospitalers against Turks.

Kind of tired of WWII movies but one of Battle of Kursk would be interesting. Would love to see a WWI movie on Battle of the Somme.

As far as aliens and Sci Fi go, I'd love to see Star Wars that centered on something other than Jedi. A spin off rated R for violence movie about the exploits of Boba Fett would be interesting.

Prequel to Jastayme's The Lonely Riders.  Focus on the Polish Army defeating Trotsky's Red Army outside Warsaw in 1920.  Nice to see the Poles win one, particularly against the Reds.  Could have the young Connery character being part of a successful cavalry engagement.

Here's a few ideas...

- Movie dealing with the Anglo-Dutch wars, including De Ruyter or maybe how New Amsterdam became New York.
- Movie dealing with the Allied intervention in Russia during WW1 and the Civil War.
- China during the 20s and 30s, looking at the German influence prior to the agreement between Hitler and Japan that pulled them out of China.  Maybe focus on the trainers and advisors that got caught up/joined the fighting against the Japanese in 1937 or the fighting between the Nationalists and the Communists, with the German advisors on both sides!
- Battle of Tours, Charles Martel et al or dealing with the run up to or aftermath.
- The Battle of Vienna and the Polish Army.
- A movie version of Len Deighton's "Goodbye Mickey Mouse".
- Movie dealing with the Chaco War between Paraguay and Bolivia in 1932-35.
- Movie dealing with the British retreat from Kabul in 1842.
- The Iraqi Uprising during WW 2 against the British with German help.
- The battle of Damas in Syria between two Foreign Legion units during the Allied Syria-Lebanon Campaign, one on the Allies side, the other Vichy.
- Movie about the French intervention in Kolwezi or Chad.

The Late 1500's was one of the most facsinating. I tooled around with writing but never had patience to pound out a novel. One idea was to write a story of a guy that was a teen squire for a Knight Hospitaler during the Battle of Malta. Then as years progress he ends up in the Battle of Lepanto. He becomes one of the few survivors of the Spanish Armada campaign. I wanted to weave his story into the Manila to Mexico trade route too.

Maybe also a movie about the life of Suleman the Magnificent or Timur Malik would be good.

1. Battle of Talas River
2. Egypt at its height vs. Nubians, Persians, etc.
3. Ivan the Terrible pushing back the Mongols
4. An alien movie with Earth caught between hostile infiltrators already in place and friendlies making a direct diplomatic approach.
5. A Charlemegne movie.

A battle epic(like Midway, Gettysburg, Gods and Generals) done about Lepanto. Lepanto begs for a battle epic.
