ArtyEngineer    5/2/2006 12:08:20 PM
Having an Issue regarding Data Degradation when being transmitted between two SINGARS radios. Do SINGARS have trouble when too close together. About 6ft apart?

Have solved it!!!! Its a Firmware issue. We got a mix of radios, some with version 6.6 others with version 7.0. the different sets will only send and recieve DATA when set to TACFIRE. Voice comms and simple acknowlegment work fine betwwen all radios on all settings.

Mike from Breille,

I agree, SINCGARS is "finniky" dont take a big mistake to get all confused!!

if you get time email me at work

I think it is the amplifier in the receiver electronics being saturated. Use 10dB-20dB attenuators of the right band before the antenna and it might work correctly.

Make sure you use the right one, otherwise the reflection or heat may be hazzardous.
