Subject: Trigger event for the coming genuine WW3 - Your opinion?

With Great depression 2 in place if we follw historical patterns a world war is just around the corner- there is smoke and soon there will be fire. What will be the trigger event?

Did the original Great Depression actually cause WW2? Hard to say because the militaristic regimes of both Italy and Japan were well in place long before the start of hostilities, and their neo-colonialist ambitions brought them into direct conflict with the old-colonialist powers. The First and Second World Wars were so ruinous and involved so many countries due to the tangeld web of alliances (and national ambitions) that most of the European powers had prior to the start of the shooting. As of now, the only WW3 scenario would be if NATO and Russia start chucking nukes at each other, and given the relative cordial state of relations between NATO and the ex USSR, that's rather unlikely at this moment. A pretty bad China-USA war could erupt over Taiwan, but other than that, the PRC doesn't have the expansionist ambitions that the Japanese or Germans had some 70 years ago. North and South Korea are still technically at war, but I think if they start actually shooting again, that diplomats in both China and the USA would do their best to contain the conflict on the Korean penninsula. My guess is that China would be far more interested in that initiative, since the conflict would be right on their border.

True but it is a vaguely interesting topic. Certainly more intersting than the last five days of arguiung about whether a map of Iraq shows that Basrah is or isn't a supply route. Couldn't we just ignore the troll and talk about the topic? Or is this the breed of troll that will simply flood conversations with their bull-plop? Becuase there's actually a few bits and pieces I read recently which seem to go quite nicely with this, but if no-one's interested...

If North Korea attacks South Korea it could quickly turn into South Korea and the US versus China, with North Korea caught in the middle as a booby prize. 
 
The loser will be whoever gets stuck with North Korea.  North Korea is so far down that it will devastate the economy of whichever nation is stuck with it, so the war may look like 'Losers Poker'.

i tend to think that were actually in ww3 at the moment, but its a weird smouldering affair.
sooner or later however the nutjob ragheads will seize power in pakistan.
the west will have to respond.
< which is probably the real reason were embroiled in fights in the area>
islam is going to lose short term, but countries with large muslim enclaves are going to have serious civil problems.
thinking UK and France there, the US is probably in a much better state as its immigrants are far better integrated

plus considering u sent me ur resume mr *** for a sys admin job thats pretty low-- but then......did u lose ur job again?? I know whose hiring sys and network admins. My view is that Netanyahu if possible could ratchet up tensions , but then he is a little helpless now. Who is she? r u gay? I am a he and like agnostic so-have u lost it?

Well you said you were a chick, I should have guessed you were lying - or maybe you can't really tell just by looking down.  Everything else above is false in one detail or another.  Then again considering your violation of all SP mores (like using my name), really, why should I be surprised?  And if you are a recruiter, you're a pretty sucky one. 
 
But in general you seemed less insane before...I think your meds are declining in effect, sugar t1ts.  You better up your lithium, or is it Prozac?
 
As for your Bhagavad Gita, Kama Sutra, the Vedas, etc., I would expect that any literate Indian is familiar with these works.  Which, come to think of it, probably excludes you (as literate, not Indian, I mean).  How long ago did you come over here?  I mean did you learn your English here or back home from Brits?  It's so hard to analyze your textual patterns...but that's the schizophrenia talking, I suspect. 
 
Prozac isn't the thing for that, and it probably mixes badly with the stelazine so I can see why you are playing with your prescriptions. 
 
Schizo and depression all in one!  Tough stuff, babe.  Perhaps that's why you've turned to ayurvedic medicine but if so, darlin', you are overdosing.  I don't think you are supposed to drink ALL of your own urine.
