Actually, Darth, as I recall you were an equal opportunity annihilator with Islam being only one of many entities slated for nuclear oblivion.   Nevertheless, you have been the prime mover on this site for at least the last 5 years or so.  You've been tough on serious opponents, but not arrogantly dismissive.  I'm not sure whether his hobbies of  beer swilling, office gambling, and sexual rampages of Eastern Europe permits GoG to be classified as a good Muslim,  but his insights, tolerance, and goodwill  have helped me question and hopefully avoid pernicious and useless stereotypes.  I look forward to many more posts from you both.

Yeah I wished death on a lot of cultures. It all feels rather silly now. As I got older and had more experience with others I learned tolerance. Plus I saw some of the Iraqi kids up close and it made me think of my own kid and in that moment I realized that those people want for their kids what I want for mine. It was a real blessing for me. Don't get me wrong, I'm no peace activist or pacifist. Just not as "Sith" like as I used to be in my youth. Plus you all deserve better that all these little personal spats. I mean an occasional beef is cool and can be fun to read but things should never get as personal as they have where people don't even want to post anymore because of all the hostility. Sure I had a part to play in that and for that I apologize. But I'm man enough to admit and fix it. No one should be arrogantly dismissed. We all have opinions. And in the realm of opinion, everybody is right and wrong to somebody. Thanks for the kind words...;)

Darth, by cited concrete example, is a moral hypocrite and a meddler of no discernible merit worthy on this subject which did not concern him. He stuck his nose in where it did not belong.

 

I listened to the objective criticism levied and will abide by it.

I'll go on record. GoG, as saying that pretty much any day without a post from BW or FS is a good day.  Not because they were always wrong, and in fact they certainly did trigger a lot of very interesting debate and education (from experts who actually knew what they were talking about), but because they we always so obnoxiously tenacious with persisting in thinking they were right when they were clearly wrong (which was often), as evidenced ad nauseum by both refusing to back down as well as frequently repeating the same clearly erroneous claims in subsequent threads.  We had to club those guys over the head about LO, EW, missiles, aerial combat, and a host of subjects, and they rarely acknowledged when they were wrong.  No one particularly likes to be wrong, or is without any pride such that they never feel any problem with admitting they were wrong, but geez....

 

The reason why many non-US posters left the site is twofold :

- 1) Strategypage is far , far right orientated . Far too much .

- 2) Theirs "moderators" (???) are partials .

 

You , all the posters , shouldn 't put the blame on Herald . He is only a relatively knowledgeable poster and a righ prick .

Instead , put the blame on SP .

Strategypage , because of its extrem right wing policy and agenda , needs people like Herald who can hot the nerve .

People like Herald should have been banned from SP a long time ago if the owners of the site were good Americans .

But they are not .

Myself , I 've been banned for saying the Arab/Jew war was the least of my concern and that they could all kill each other , that wasn 't my problem . I did not take side , but I 've been banned for anti-semitism (???) .

Just let me say that I wasn 't surprised ...

 

DA is perfectly right and I suppose that He understand better NOW what posters 's feeling like me were when that brickwall of Herald is typing on his keyboard . We simply gave up trying to have a decent a polite talk about a disgreement . 

No discussion could reach its potential because of constant insults and "over the top" mood .

I tell you something interesting : 5 years ago , DA (who was at the time Gixx) sent me a picture of himself on his bike  .

I barely noticed that he was black , but his bike was superb . Gixx (DA) being black and Democrat was absolutly not a problem for me . But apparently , it is here on SP ...

Another clue about this site .

Myself , I don 't leave a site because I loose an argument , we all learn everyday . I leave because of the general attitude of the site owners and their protected posters . SP is a shite site .

To Herald , I only have one thing to say : stay here on SP , we don 't need you somewhere else .
