Czechoslovakia?

The Best 9mm is without a doubt the CZ 75B. Solid Steel Construction. Inside Rail. Functions perfectly after 1000's of rounds. Is used by more Special Forces, Police, and Military Units than any other Pistol in the world.
And, it is Very Cheap compared to Sig Sauer, which is the only other that it can be compared to. The reason why it is so much less expensive is because of the Exchange Rate - Czechoslovakia is an Eastern Eurpoean Nation that is not a part of the Euro Exchange Currency, and is way undervalued.
So Get yourself a CZ and Be Happy
Get Yourself a GREAT GUN at 50% or Less....These are Quality Supreme.
..."Czechoslovakia" ceased to exist in 1993 when it split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The Czech Republic - where CZ's are produced - is a member of the European Union (as well as NATO), so currency rates, which obviously have an impact, are not the principle price determinant between it's products and those of SIG (The CZ 75B costs much more than 50% of the P226, BTW). It is chiefly a matter of both supply and demand and overall quality. The CZ 75B may be used by more Military and Police units globally (largely because of its price), but the P226 is the first choice of the most elite Special Forces and Police Organizations here at home, such as the Navy SEALS and the Texas Rangers (in fact 1/3 of all L.E. Officers in the U.S. carry a SIG product). The 75B is a very good weapon, and if you're looking to save some money, it's a decent choice (although the Ruger SR9 is a better value). But if you want the best product available, spend the extra $250 and buy the SIG.

Danton,
I have actually found that the Sig-Sauer pistols seem to sit very high in my hands, whch makes for a snappier recoil than say, a cz-75b. They might have a mighty reputation because they're from Germany, but FWIW, my particular P220 is a very finicky eater. My 1911 gobbles up any kind of ammo I've given it.
Also - the word is apparently out on CZ pistols. While 5 or 10 years ago, they were not in the same department, reputation-wise as Sig, Beretta, Glock, etc, the prices I've seen on them lately tell me a story that apparently enough people have bought and loved these and found that they are the equal or better of many other pistols on the market.

I'm a little surprised by that. My 220 eats up everything I put on it's plate. Is your Sig too new yet? Maybe it needs to be worn in a little.

Best 9mm or 9mm vs.45
12/21/2009 3:46:44 PM
Why can't I read about the SUBJECT, which was" BEST 9mm"---Not which handgun caliber do you like?
Do you all suppose that the people offering their opinion as to which caliber is best---can't even read ?
This probably being the case--I really don't think that they are qualified to post on a forum question !
Be advised ,all that have offered a caliber preference; you may want to 1) learn to read 2) learn to post where your opinions may be helpful 3) learn that your overall opinions are not valid with regards to a specific question 4) get a life---the old 45 vs. 9mm is an antique argument ,usually reserved for newbys and hard headed diehards---nobody cares anymore what antiquated opinions may be offered by "gun nuts" !
The question is:
Subject:
Which is the best 9mm pistol ? ( for all you that don't read well--we really do not care about your 45or 40 or whatever ! )

The problem is that if you take a great gun design, glock, SIG, 1911, whatever and mate it with a piss poor round the math looks like this:
Great Design + Poor Round = Mediocre Gun
I like the 9mm just fine...if I was limiting myself to shooting poodles. I want something better to protect myself with.

I prefer the Sig but it's the only one I have real experience with so that's telling. It's a good gun though, that's for certain.

The actual question really is this:
" whats the best dog poop you can get?"
The answer is "Why are you collecting dog poop?"

Hands down the Sig Sauer P226.
It is used by the Navy Seals,British S.A.S. and numerous law enforcement agencies and even the secret service in 40 cal and .357 Sig
It has been proved to be the most accurate semi auto handgun in the world.
The Navy Seals swtched. to it due to it's superior performance over the Beretta M9 and also that the Beretta M9's slides were wearing out very fast due to the 1000 rds a week the Seals were firing during practice drills.
Glock 17 and 19 are great,HK is even better in 9MM pistols,FN's are incredible. as well.
The Sig P226 is the best 9MM in the world.,hands down
There is even a new version by Blackwater thta has a 20 rd Mag and other improvements.
A sig will never jam, unlike a Glock or a Beretta.
The only reason the Beretta is our country's sidearm over the Sig is a financial based decision.
