One of the technical surprises of this war so far is that the al Samoud missle flys appears to fly under the air defense capability of the Pac III Air defense system. The Pac III was designed to engage high eliptic SCUDs not low flying missles.

Tonights low flying missile attack on Kuwait City is another indicator that the PAC III has a window in its defense. The tip off a week ago when people reported hearing a low flying missile/drone going over them as well as pictures at the missile crash site indicated what type of missile it was. This time there was not even a air attack warning given. This situation could cause problems off loading the 4 IDs equipment.

I got the impression that this missle was shot from the west side of kumait. rather than the northern border. that could explain why it wasn't picked up still didn't do much damage.

I know this is old news, but... Wasn't at least one of the missiles fired by Iraq a modified Silkworm/Styx type? A sea-skimming anti-ship missile converted to hit land targets. LOCKS ARE MADE TO BE PICKED, CL.
