Subject: Buran vs. Space Shuttle?

Would it be feasible to launch space shuttles using the Energia rocket? The rocket by itself can lift the shuttle. Any takers?

The Russians are already building something bigger. Their capsule technology has taken them far, and I think they are building a shuttle type glider that would ride on the new rocket and be able to glide to earth with small engines.

Probably not. The attachment designs are all wrong and the balance would be off as well. It's not nearly as simple as it looks to put a payload on a rocket. Try watching some episodes of Mythbusters when they use rockets for various things, it doesn't take much to make the flight path go all wacky.
