Count von molkte can you give me a good reason why you have put the T-95 BlackHawk there? Have you any information that it can beat the other tanks? It isn't in use with the Russian army!

>>haha they are << Haha indeed. T-95 is not in production, and its capabilities are generally hearsay and untested. Osorio never entered production at all and is a dead issue at this point. I'm not a fan of Russian tanks, but I'd certainly take a T-80 over a non-existant tank any day of the week. To chime in with my own offering on the subject, I'd say: #1.) Leo2A6/M1A2SEP tied #2.) Challenger 2/M1A2 tied #3.) Merkava 4 #4.) Merkava 3/M1A1D tied #5.) LeClerc #6.) Type 90/K1A1 tied #7.) Ariete/Challenger 1 tied #8.) T-80 (latest marks)/105mm tank upgrades #9.) Type 98 #10.) T-90 One error on most of these lists is that people are not differentiating between the M1A2 and the M1A2SEP, which are of differing capabilities, with the M1A2SEP being the most advanced American tank currently in service and arguably the most advanced tank in service anywhere. As I have pointed out elsewhere, its optics are radically superior to any other tank out there. The other error I see is that people tend to forget older marks of very successful tanks that are still in service. I would take a Merkava 3 or an M1A1 over a platoon of T-80 or T-90 any day of the week. I might rate the Challenger 1 higher, except that it is now only in Jordanian service, which means that the crews aren't up to snuff and the CR1's mechanical issues will probably only be exacerbated by inadequate maintenance. If the examples of its performance were still associated with British crews, it would be higher on the list. 105mm modernized tanks include various designs like the Israeli upgrades of the M60, the Canadian upgrade of the Leo 1, etc.

The T-95 and Black Eagle are two completely different tanks.

"Germany’s Leopard 2 Remains the World’s Best Tank" "The Pentagon’s gas turbine-powered M1 Abrams may be the first tank that comes to the minds of most Americans, but overall, Germany’s Leopard 2 is the world’s best. In a new analysis of the world tank market, Forecast International/DMS finds that, based on an overall comparison in terms of lethality, fightability, mobility and survivability, the Leopard 2A6EX comes out on top. Although the Leopard 2A6EX ranked above the M1 Abrams (in the A2 System Enhancement Package model), the gap between the two tanks remains exceedingly small. In this year’s survey, the deciding factor was the Leopard 2’s 55-caliber version of the Rh 120 tank cannon and the formidable DM 53 long rod penetrating ammunition. The Abrams is slated to receive the same cannon, but not for several years. " The whole ranking from the analysis is: 1. Leopard 2A6 2. M1A2 Abrams 3. Type 90 4. LeClerc 5. Challenger 2 "The latest analysis and ranking again has the omnipresent Russian tanks falling short of their Western counterparts, despite some recent major improvements as well as the continued lead by the Russians in active defense systems."

Again, unless someone can show my evidence to the contrary, I'm of the opinion that the L55 guntube allows the Leo 2 to compete with APDU armed M1s, not surpass them. I also tend to think the sensor package on the M1A2SEP renders it remarkably superior to the Leo2A6 in terms of fightability and survivability, but in that respect I may be betraying my background in reconnaissance and scouting. Putting Type 90 and LeClerc above Challenger 2 and 2E, as well as Merkava 3 and Merkava 4, is nonsense.

Forecast international also says that: "However, the M1A2 Abrams tank, built by General Dynamics Land Systems, outperforms the Leopard 2 in actual combat situations." Which, to be brutally honest means that their method of saying which tank is best is flawed, the best tank is the tank which will win IN combat situations. At the end of the day, combat is what the tanks are designed for.

let me tell you:T90(chinese)is not as good as you think, although it's main gun and amor is outstanding £¬it's fire-control system is not good enough.

Who are Forecast International/DMS? And what are their criteria for judging? The winners of these types of analysis are those tanks that conform most closely to the preconceptions of the analysts as to what comprises the perfect tank. For example, if the analyst thinks that a fast medium tank capable of firing accurately while moving at high speed is ideal, then the LeClerc will score highly. On the other hand, if the analyst likes heavy, highly armoured tanks with a gun that is accurate at extreme ranges, then he will score the Abrams or Challenger highly. At the end of the day, the theorists can say what they like, but the proof is on the battlefield.
