When my country was joining EU, I voted against it. For simple reason that I didn't know where is it going. Today I still don't know where is it going, and I don't know anyone who does. EU is even supposed to have some common defense with complicated relation to NATO. I tried to understand practical consequences of it, and I fear that, if we go to war, we are going to have two chains of command, which is a disaster. Allegedly, NATO should be more important in wartime, but still doesn't convince me. If someone is interested in European defenses, the first country to talk to should probably be Poland. They seem to be dead serious about it, and their military is capable. The differences between eastern members at end and Germany and France on the other are growing every day, and it is not about military matters in the first place. Four eastern members formed "Visegrad Group" and some other members are willing to cooperate with it, maybe join in the future.
