we have a better more high tech navy with better trained seamen. who would annihilate any british counterparts they were confronted by.

I have a basic understanding of the british government and assume that because they are a democracy cannot get the wheels truning to go to war as fast as maerica who can start a full fledge war extremely quickly..... I would love to hear other peoples feed back

on the navy front read up on "perisher" the brit sub commander course and take note of what the americans who've been through it will say.
i don't understand the last part about why the usa would be able to go to war faster than the brits would based on their gov't form.  the usa has some pretty significant advantages in terms of larger standing forces etc in that regard granted.

The war against the creek Indians was a very small campaign, almost not worth a mention. I would also not get too worked up by what you read on Wikepeidia. Wikepedia has British KIA for the Battle of New Orleans about 1500 men under the real figure. Wikepedia is so relieable, that I could go right now and make the Creek Indian campaign the biggest of the war.
i make no reference to the creek war at all dk.  as you say it was a sideshow to a sideshow.
there were a number of fights where the americans fought unsupported indian forces especially during the early part of the war in the north though.

what i am trying to say about thew government is that since britain is a democracy thus every person gets a vote in the process to start a war -but the united states has the secratary of defence thus has a faster time of responding to war since only a few people have to make a decision not the entire country. Also addressing the perisher sub the brits cannot engineer i have nothing against them but almost every british product has some bug in it that a average american product would not. Also bgecause we have more sattelites orbiting earth and better response time because of it we would be able to aerialy drop death charges and take out the subs before they became a threat.

Has this thread not died a much earned death yet?  "My X is bigger/stronger/better/smarter than your Y" threads seem decidedly pointless . .
I have never understood  the point of these threads. You can debate till your fingers fall off and the thread will still be full of bombastic nationalism and denial. The main thing I have learned from reading these threads is that the more nationalistic the poster the more exclamation points seem to slip in after every second or third sentence. Its as if some how other capabilities are some how linked to their own egos.

Besides, every one and their brother knows that Americans are the best trained in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where did you get that from?
1st: America, I think you'll find, is also a democracy... unless I'm really out of the political loop...
2nd: We have a lovely chap who works for our government called the Minister of Defence. Same job as your lovely chap.
3rd: This may shock you, but the whole country wasn't asked about Iraq... or Aftganistan... or indeed, any other war I'm aware of. Opinion polls were taken, but trust me, we weren't asked. Or at least I wasn't... so maybe the government asked everyone BUT me... in which case, I'm writing a complaint!

this page http://www.thisnation.com/federalism.html defines the government type of the united states. I admitt that I have a limited knowledge of the british type of government i am posting on this thread to learn. And to share any knowledge that i have about anything i do have knowledge about. Now correct when i become inaccurate PLEASE!!!! Now i am aware that the usa has the best navy. The best Air force with the most modern planes and ships of any country in the world. I do beleive that they have extremely well equipped infrantry. Now the british have better more seasoned combat expierenced troops. But i think that that is simply not enough to say that they have a better army than america. America has more resource to dedicate to the cause then britain and in average higher quality gear. Better body army etc. I understand britain has somewhat isolated higher tech weapons compared to the united states. Anything you guys can tell me or correct me about.
god bless america
long live the queen

just a minor detail.  the last advertised perisher course involved US submarine commanders undergoing training on RAN Collins Class submarines in the Sub Training Area off of Western Australia - the final testing was done by a "teacher" from the  netherlands navy

Hey i just read alot about the perisher submarine trainng course i would have liked to edit my original commit but couldn't figure out how. now the british submarine course looks pretty intense. and i have not much to say about it. But the tactical use of submarines is very limited. Thus it is only sea to sea basically unless equipped to be specailized in another field...... But i do think that the brits and americans are incredibley good allies for this reason we have different specializations and excell in both of our seperate fields.
