I'd rank the Azzies pretty high. The ADF is reletivly small, but the quality of the individual soldier is quite impressive. This has been very evident in Iraq. The ADF hsn't yet sufffered a single faitality, and although the number of ADF personal that were, and are deployed in Iraq is around 100 times less that the US, if ADF casualties came at the same rate as the US, we would have suffered around 9 faitalities by now. Australian forces also managed to win quite a reputation in the early days of WW2, when fighting in Greece. The allied presense in Greece during early WW2 was larly Australian, and evan though we were deffeated, for the first time we managed to counter the German Blitze tactic, and force Germany into a long lasting battle, rather than quick victories as the Germans indulged in the rest of Europe at that stage of WW2. I give alot of credit to the Jewish freedom fighters during the uprisings against the Nazis in the Polish gettoes of WW2. With molotov tails, Pistols and what little heavier weaponary they could get their hands on, they fought with unprecidented furiosity and mannaged to hold out until the final year of WW2. The Red army was the most feared army through the majority of the second half of the 20th century. I have no doubt about that. With complete determination to drive the Nazis out of the USSR, the furry that the Rrd Army was in after seeing what the Nazis were doing to their homeland and their loved ones, and the 'Not A Step Back Policy' The Red Army realy had the Nazis Sh!#ing them selves as the tanks were rolling and the men were marching into Berlin. During the cold war, the soviets had the entire world shaking for 45 years. Today, the most powerful army is clearly the US, however the most feared army would be the terrorist.

I do not fear the terrorist "army". They are weak and feeble in any strait fight. I watched a fire fight yesterday between US Soldiers and Terrorists on TV, the terrorists only scored a stratch on the camra guy from an explosion while 20 of them were killed in an hour and a half of a recon patrol. Terrorist "soldiers", while being fanatic, are easly killed. The terrorists are a poor fighting force, the NVC were better. The need to do random bombings to kill the enemy because even in an ambush, they know they cannot win.

those terrorist gurilla forces could not stand up to a small town police force much less the United States Army and Marine Corps in a firefight. the trouble with the terrorists is that they are so fanatical that it blinds them from the use of the tactics that help the US soldiers succeed in a firefight.

no other modern army today practice cutting off the head of their enemy (real or perceived) and video tape it to be air on news chanels. Therefore, they are the most feared army in the world if they could somehow prove that they're an army.

There is not an islamic country in the world that anybody fears- doesn't know what to do with ya- fear no. Take Middle east- who stands up to anybody anymore- 1 week to take Iraq, 2 for Iran, but who is going to go through the pain all the time- look at India -Pakistan who is afraid of these jokers -nobody- does it payoff to start wars all over-probably not- just contain them- hopefully they take to afternoon TV soaps. These guys can be mowed down in a heartbeat, but they haven't really crossed everyones' pissoff threshold yet.

The terrorists are a laugh. They have yet to win a battle with American forces. Not to mention the invisible war with the terrorists. We send a squad of the real life rambos to the middle of nowhere, terroristville and they flatten the base where hundreds of the sub-human terrorists live. Send a street gang from Brooklyn and they will win. Most of the terrorists are poorly trained or not at all. Plus, none of the terrorists seem to study war like Americans do. America is a soldier nation. Everything around us was originally designed for war by the government. We celebrate the destruction of our enemies more zealously than anyother western country today. We have collages for the military and civilians on war through out the country and if anyone wants to, you can become an armchair general in a couple years of dedicated study. Lets take me for example, I have been studing warfare and its impact since I was six years old. Americans are far superior to the terrorists, our society has created us to be. Americans love a battle and do not tollerate a looser as Patton once said.

Last I heard the casualty ratio in Iraq is five Arabs (most of the insurgents aren't native) to one American. That was long before Hizbollah got involved, and with Al-Quaeda showing more and more interest, I don't see the winning streak lasting. Sure, the basic Arab grunt may be an over-zealous cot-headed pushover, but they breed like rabbits, and outnumber American troops by at least 10:1. As for them being stupid, most are, but Osama is NOT. That doesn't mean I like him, but I would be naive to ignore the man's military genius. Remember Afghanistan? In many fights there Osama was outnumbered and out-gunned, yet he still managed to win. Many Americans seem to have the illusion that because they defeated the Mujahadeen in weeks that the Russians must have lacked resolve. Well, sorry to tell you this, but, THEY WERE THERE 20 YEARS AGO, BEFORE GPS AND LASER GUIDED MISSILES! You guys had a simmilar experience in southeast asia about 30 years ago as I recall. And one last thing: contrary to popular belief Osama NEVER accepted arms or ammo from the Americans, seems old longbeard hated you guys back then too. As I said, I don't like Osama, but brutality and elusive tactics don't make a person stupid, they DO however make him feared.

strategically osama might be very inteligent as he is. it took alot of inteligence boldness and pure out luck on their part stupidity on ours for them to have 9-11. but tactically they suck flat out. the kill ratio is a joke outside of hiding and trying to kill as many civilians as they can they are useless. they are not an army they represent no country. as far as most feared on the field of battle if you mean getting your ass handed to you. i'd say america if just brutality stand point japanese would get the nod from me during ww2 times. in modern times china would get the nod there.
