So what would be the roles that the infantryless reserves would fill during conflict?

Would using reserves to fill these roles free up enough active duty manpower to replace the reserve infantry component?

Can the troops operate sufficiently without the slots filled by the reserves in 'non-war' environments and training?
Can the active duty troops deploy in an emergency without the reserve component being and remain effective?
(I am not sure, but I suspect you are moving most of the logistics tail into the reserves.)

How would the change effect the reserves traditional non-combat roles?
(disaster relief, civil disturbances, etc.)

Hey there,
It kind of simple LID are cheaper and the Guard units would compose a transport capability. the guard could either raise infantry to round them out or get active component parent units as roundouts.

Sincerely,

Keith
