KINGS BAY, Ga. (Nov. 19, 2018) The Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine USS Rhode Island (SSBN 740) Blue crew returns to homeport at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia, following an at-sea training and certification period. This is the first time the crew has been at sea since the boat's 33-month Engineered Refueled Overhaul completion. The boat is one of five ballistic missile submarines stationed at the base and is capable of carrying up to 20 submarine-launched ballistic missiles with multiple warheads.
