The Coast Guard at War: Vietnam, 1965-1975, by Alex Larzelere

Annapois: Naval Institute Press, 1997. xxv, 345 pp. Illus, maps, notes, bibliog, glossary, index. $32.95. ISBN:1-55750-529-2.

A solid treatment of the Coast Guards role in the Vietnam War. The author does a good job of weaving together the very diverse missions which the Coast Guard performed (e.g., coastal patrol and blockade, port security, search and rescues, and more), into a readable whole. Recommended for those interested in Vietnam, the Coast Guard, or maritime history.
