: Thirty nations have signed a new revision to the Conventional Forces in Europe treaty, reducing the number of allowed weapons on the continent. The new totals include:
@ tanks reduced from 39,142 to 31,740
@ armored vehicles from 59,822 to 56,570
@ artillery systems from 38,286 to 35,312
@ combat aircraft from 13,362 to 13,282
Attack helicopters were actually increased from 3,892 to 3,994. The number of US tanks allowed to be in Europe was reduced from 4,006 to 1,812, but the US only has 846 tanks in Europe.--Stephen V Cole
