For the second time. Russia used a converted ICBM to launch commercial satellites into space. In this case, the June 19th launch put to Department of Defense Iridium communications satellites up. The SS-19 ICBM, converted to a satellite launcher, enables launch cost to be $14 million. Using a U.S. or European launcher costs ten times as much (or more.)
