December 31, 2007: In the last eight years (1999-2006), the United States has exported $125 billion worth of weapons (39 percent of the total). In second place was Russia, with $54 billion. France shipped $27 billion worth, and Britain $17.6 billion. Germany sold $16 billion worth, China $10.8 billion and Italy $6.4 billion. In the last few years, Russian and Israeli sales have been increasing rapidly, at the expense of Western European suppliers.
