Taiwan is spending $2.15 billion to upgrade it's electronic warfare, surveillance and reconnaissance systems on land and aboard  ships and aircraft. The U.S. Navy is supervising the upgrades, with most of the equipment provided by, and work performed by, Lockheed-Martin. Details were not released, but it appears that the contract will provide Taiwan's armed forces with computers, software, radios and radars that will give them communications and reconnaissance capabilities similar to that possessed by the U.S. Navy.
