The UAE has issued a $125 million contract with Eurocopter Romania to upgrade 25 of its SA-330 Puma helicopters with new engines and a glass cockpit. The UAE is also negotiating to buy three new Boeing-767 Tanker-Transports to support its F-16C60 and Mirage-2000-9 fighters. The UAE has ordered three 64-meter heavy landing craft from Abu Dhabi for $11 million. These will be built in the same shipyard that is building the six 60-meter patrol boats the UAE ordered earlier this year.--Stephen V Cole
