Yemen has received another batch of T72 tanks from Russia; these are reported to be the T72B model with the ARENA counter-missile defense system. If this is confirmed, it will be the first time that ARENA has been exported. Yemen has received 30 reconditioned T55s from the Czech Republic, and expects 76 more to be delivered in September and December. The Czechs sold the tanks cheap rather than spend money to scrap them.--Stephen V Cole
