The US Navy is looking for a new anti-ship missile to arm its helicopters, replacing the AGM-119 Penguin bought from Norway. (The Navy bought 111 Penguins, but has never fired one in combat.) Bidders include Boeing with an evolved Brimstone (which is an evolved Hellfire), Lockheed Martin with its LOCAAS loitering attack missile, and Norway with the stealthy new NSM missile. The Navy wants a weapon that can destroy frigates in the radar clutter of coastal islands.--Stephen V Cole
