Towards the end of the Cold War, the US government set up a program (Stargate) to investigate the use of paranormals (psychics) in espionage and criminal investigations. Stargate was shut down in 1995 as part of the post Cold War cutbacks. But now it has been restarted by the CIA and FBI. The feds are looking for help in identifying likely targets for future terrorist attacks. Programs like this have been around since the 1960s, when the CIA, FBI and Department of Defense began a try anything policy. Some of the out of the box efforts did produce results. But the psychics have been close mouthed about any successes, possibly for security reasons.
