The British Ministry of Defense is considering improvements to the global deployment capability of its fleet of Challenger 2 Main Battle Tanks, after too many disposable engine air filters were consumed during the Anglo-Omani "Swift Sword II" Exercise . The British Army is also planning to buy tungsten-tipped Armor Piercing 120mm main gun rounds for the Challenger II, reacting to National Gulf War Veterans' and Families' Association concerns about the side-effects of the depleted uranium rounds. However, a Ministry of Defense spokesman told the press that the round were "going to replace the DU rounds. We're not going wholesale into tungsten at the expense of DU. It's an option.
