Marines: October 16, 2001

Archives

The US Marine Corps has formed an anti-terrorism brigade, the 4th Marine Expeditionary Brigade. This combines the two security battalions that have been in existence for a decade. A new anti-terrorist reaction battalion and a fleet protection anti-terrorist company will be formed, and the Marines want Congress to authorize an increase in their total manpower (by 2400) to accomodate the new units.--Stephen V Cole
